UC BERKELEY COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN'S 2019 SUMMER [IN]STITUTE IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

[IN]ARCH ADV is a cohort within the Summer [IN]STITUTE designed for students who hold a degree in architecture or are in their final years of an undergraduate architecture degree. The program is an immersive architectural summer studio formulated to push the boundaries of architectural thinking and design.

[IN]ARCH ADV participants make extensive use of the digital fabrication lab as well as analog and digital drawing to develop compelling artifacts for stronger graduate school application portfolios.

Join us this summer on the Cal campus to connect with faculty, enhance your portfolio, build a network of peers and experience our singular design studio culture at one of the highest-ranked architecture schools in the world, UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design.

[IN]ARCH is primarily concerned with fundamentals, investigating what it means to "speak" architecture through representation. It is structured as an introduction to studio culture and design discourse, resulting in a strong portfolio.

[IN]ARCH ADV is an advanced studio for current students or recent alumni of architecture programs. It is a place for students to transform ideas into form, fabricating compelling artifacts for an exceptionally polished design portfolio.

[IN]LAND introduces students to multiple scales and aspects of landscape architecture through rigorous inquiry and experimentation. Students develop a deep understanding of the methodologies of the field and a refined portfolio of design work.

[IN]CITY provides students with foundational skills in urban planning and policy methods as well as the tools to translate sustainability objectives into clear scopes of action. Alumni possess the critical, observational and analytical skills necessary for graduate study in the field.
