Presented annually, the Weitzman Year End Show brings together work by graduating students across the School to capture new directions in architecture, landscape architecture, city and regional planning, historic preservation, and the fine arts. Having shifted from a traditional gallery format to the Web, the 2020 exhibition offers a deep dive into the individual agendas of emerging designers, planners, preservationists, and historians, with statements of intent from participating graduates and links to their professional websites. Individual thesis projects in architecture, plannning, and preservation are presented alongside collaborative studio-based works.

The featured design comes from graduating students Nahye Shin and Chengyang Wang for the third-year architecture studio Machine Myrmecomorphy. In this studio, students were asked to consider how the automated processes of “seeing” associated with artificial intelligence networks might suggest both new architectural forms and expressions as well as new grounds upon which these new architectures would occupy. Learn more about Shin and Wang's design at Miro.com. The studio is led by Karel Klein, with Teaching Assistant Ryan Barnette.
