One Lab is an interdisciplinary school involved in design and science to educate the next generation of design innovators for the global community.

We have uncovered a necessity for an independent, interdisciplinary think-tank, or pedagogical “silo breaker zone”, in which to inquire, rouse, debate, conduct experiments and rethink the potential of humanity at all scales.

We don’t see design and technology belonging to any individual mindset; instead we envision design to be totalizing, comprehensive and global in reach.

We seek global yet still local solutions that can open the sociopolitical borders that all too often separate design from people. The overreaching aim is to develop a language of technological design that can create proximity between individual responsibility and the current global environmental crisis.

We see environmental problems as a crisis of human alienation from the natural world, and our initiative will explore ways in which design can reformat the unfortunate separation.
