Bouler Pfluger Architects, New York, NY, US, Junior Architect
Worked on over 100 housing projects in the firm’s efforts to help rebuild damaged houses from Hurricane Sandy in 2012. This program had a total of 32,000 houses in New York City, of which my firm had a portion of. These projects ranged from lifting the houses above the FEMA floodplain, making sure they were up to NYC building and fire codes, to total new builds for clients. My role included;
Completed site surveys of 20 plus houses for submission into the building
program, documented damages to the home and noted the client's needs.
Using AutoCAD, drawing houses for use in design development.
Checking that houses met building codes and noted changes that needed
to be made if they were against regulations
Prepared drawing sets for submission to D.O.B. and responded to RFI’s
from contractors
Using HydraCad, prepared sprinkler drawings for houses in fire zones
Assisted in site visits alongside project architects.
Completed PAA drafting and updating the building’s design once a building

Thesis Project entitled 'Re-thinking the Street' and exploration in how existing streetscapes work in Dublin City Centre. It was a study in understanding the uses of the streets which have become overwhelmed with traffic, for different people within the city. I looked at how the street could be improved through the lens of three separate users of it. The private user that lived/worked along it, the public user that transitioned through it and the vehicular use of it.
