FAARSI

Mid Eastern Diner designed by Sanjiv Malhan for Office For International Architecture (OFIA)

Concept

A food item, popular throughout the worlds was actually a creation of war. Legend has it that a shortage of cooking oil and the torrential terrain of the Middle-East proved to be telling factors, prompting some medieval Persian soldiers to come up with the ingenious idea of skewering meat on their swords and grilling them in open-field fires. Little did they know, that their make-shift arrangement with weapons would give birth to what we now relish as The KEBAB.

Over the years Kebabs took many forms, both literally and figuratively. Different countries and cultures made room for this delicious meal in their kitchens. Tinkered and tweaked according to taste, everyone lay claim to this delightful discovery. 'Faarsi' is the language the soldiers used to speak

FAARSI is a portal back into those golden times. The way its creators intended it to be. A mix of culinary traditions – Persian, Turkish, Lebanese and Moroccan – is what lies at the core of Faarsi. You will relish it with the same zest, we prepare it with.

Only difference being, We didn’t use any swords,
or maybe we dId ! come and find out for yourself .
