This board was designed for a master’s program studio assignment, which consisted of the renovation of an abandoned site. Prior to beginning the concepts, a site analysis was completed, which included data on the land use, circulation, demographics, and any opportunities and constraints of the site. The goal of the project was to link the park with the surrounding communities. The design incorporated the site’s cultural history and provided spaces that would encourage rest and observation. The chosen concept included a community garden. This project was presented to peers, CAPLA professors, and landscape architects.
