Sai is an architect, with a Master's Degree in Architecture from Rice University, and a Bachelor's Degree of Engineering in Urban Planning from Tongji University. Before moving to Seattle with her family, she had two and a half years of experience at Gensler's Houston office. She is the first prize winner of AIA Fort Worth Student Award 17', as well as a winner of Urbanscape Symbiosis Competition, UIA-HYP micro-housing competition, and MAD traveling scholarship. She also has her LEED Green Associate certificate, and passed three ARE exams on her way to get the registered architect license.
She has various practical experiences all over the world. Besides Gensler, she also interned at Arenas Basabe Palacios in Madrid, OPEN Architecture in Beijing, Naturalbuild and Z Plus in Shanghai. In the past, she worked on a wide range of projects where she was mainly responsible for design phases. She also worked closely with the team to get involved in the delivery phases. Sai is a team player and quick learner, and she is always ready for new challenges.
Gensler, Houston, TX, US, Technical Designer
During her time at Gensler, Sai worked directly with Design Directors on a wide range of projects: office, mixed-use, residential, auto parking facility, TOD, lobby reposition etc. She was mainly responsible for design phases, including concept design, Schematic Design, Design Development, visualization etc. She also worked closely with the team to get involved in the delivery phases. Her experience at Gensler has helped improve her understanding of the architecture industry, and has added more practical thinking to her architectural design.

She graduated from Rice in 2018 (GPA 3.78) with her final project Periphery Party. She was the first prize winner (co-winner with Ibrahim Salman) of AIA Fort Worth Student Award 17', as well as third prize winner(co-winner with Ibrahim Salman) of UIA-HYP International Micro-housing Competition 18' out of 2000 competitors.
Tongji University, Shanghai, CN, Bachelors, BE in Urban Planning
During her time at Tongji, Sai took a two-year multi-disciplinary program, where she studied Architecture Design, Urban Design and Landscape Design. She also went to Glenn Murcutt Workshop in Sydney as an exchange student in UNSW.
