Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands is a mixed-use Integrated Resort located on a 16 hectare site of reclaimed land in Singapore. The complex includes a 55 storey hotel with 2600 rooms; a 1.2-hectare garden Skypark capping the towers; an iconic ArtScience Museum on the waterfront promontory; two state-of-the-art theaters; a Casino; a Convention Center and Exhibition Halls; a wide array of shopping and dining outlets; and an outdoor event plaza.

In keeping with Singapore’s image of the City in a Garden, landscaped spaces adorn the complex at many levels, from the palm canopy along the waterfront promenade, to the public Bucida tree-lined promenade above the podium, to the garden skypark on the 57th storey. The project is a vital connection from the waterfront to the Gardens by the Bay, located to the west side of the project. Additionally, below grade, the network of public corridors connects MRT systems and existing underground pedestrian networks seamlessly together further completing the circuit of activity around Marina Bay. Working hand in hand with Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority and a team of consultants from around the world, the project was secured through competition in 2005 and was open and fully operational 5 years from start of construction. The project was awarded Singapore's President's Design Award.
