The University of Michigan's grant to fund arts-related research.

Our seven-person team, WORKWEAR&TEAR, focused on women in the workplace, and in what ways they alter or curate their clothing in order to adapt to spaces not designed for them. We conducted research interviews with women in different workplaces (woodshop, office, coffee houses, etc.) and designed and fabrication nineteen garments that reflected our assertions in research and experience in these spaces. CAD garment design, pattern making, and tailoring worked alongside animation representation to field test designs in relevant environments.

Taubman College's annual grant awarded three student research teams and subsequent exhibition at the Liberty Research Annex from February-May 2023.
