SUMMARY

Design Brief

The aim of this work was to develop cost effective solutions for given program, while establishing spatial and aesthatic qualities within a small footprint. In line with this approach, the main concern was to provide flexibility to the client/investor. Therefore, the whole content  to be presented was shaped around this idea. Rather than a single project, this is more of a design guide which consists of multiple projects and variations.


Located in Traverse City, Michigan; locational and environmental conditions were taken into consideration in the design process. Setbacks and other restrictions are well respected.


There are 2 scenarios developed in content of this design guide. The scenarios are mainly seperated by their plan/layout differences. Each scenario has its own varitions related to facade arrangements derived from their plan type.

The design guide displays multiple options that can be implemented in this area and it highlights the flexibility of the design itself. In order to have the most satisfying scenario, even more options can be created by composing different elements from the variations being presented here.
