Dwelling on Abstraction

This short video compiles 40 abstract photos of the projects built over the past decade. In each photo, the building is unrecognizable, which frees one from preoccupations of the context, function, structure, form, and the like, leaving only a pure composition to see. A reminder of how one is constantly surrounded and influenced by built environments, it lends an eye that sees poems being offered by architecture to the world, not so apparent at first yet changing people's lives every day. These 40 "lines" represent the state of mind behind the formation of all RZLBD's body of works, its pursuit for the capacity of architecture to offer contemplation and serenity against the chaotic world, spirituality and discipline over speculative concerns.

Project X is a self-initiated project at Atelier RZLBD to welcome and celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2020. It covers a wide range of projects in diverse formats, from limited edition prints to videos.
