About the work
A territory exists prior to specific need. Unrestricted by any contingencies, it is always another place.
A territory is incomplete and accidental. It lends itself to be completed with our presence, and to be contingent as a result of our acts.
A territory acquires its profound character by creating a field of relationships, a setting ready to become. This is beyond borrowing a definition by means of an enclosure. The true definition comes from the within (space), not from the without (envelope).
A territory is a place of possibilities, where the physical, the mental, and the spiritual keep merging into each other.
A territory expands and shrinks. It breathes like a lung, and the space is the air.
A territory becomes the place with us and for us, it does not mean that it is a non-place. It is in the constant state of becoming, being all the places and exceeding them at once.
A territory is participatory.
A territory has always been intact, continuously. It has nothing to do with building a structure. Any territory has always already been there.
