We believe design is the fundamental component of our work. Our design process is conducted within a culture of excellence; we are thorough, engaging, and concentrate on solving specific design challenges. Our architecture negotiates building and site context, sustainability, and the particular nuances of function, materiality, light, scale, and budget. We focus on design simplicity, innovation, and detail.
RWH has provided architectural, interior design, and master planning services since 1973. In 2007, Richard+Wittschiebe merged with Hand Design Studio. The combined accomplishments of both studios have enabled RWH to build a stronger, more skillful, and diverse project portfolio. Our work encompasses both public and private projects, consisting mainly within the higher education and K-12 arenas. We also specialize in commercial architecture and interiors, aquatics and recreation centers, along with fraternity and sorority houses.
We believe great design results from a collaborative effort between the client, end users, consultants, and the architects. Because of this cooperative value, we place great importance upon understanding our clients and actively listening to their needs. We find that this process, guided by strong principles of design, yields a realization of our clients’ aspirations and goals while remaining respectful towards any budget.
