I’m Rob Jones - a designer, builder, and typography enthusiast who believes that any problem can be solved through elegant and resourceful design. I’ve never been quite satisfied with the ordinary; and firmly believe that extraordinary design can spark innovations, establish unique identities, and ultimately ‘wow’ clients.
Thank you for being here. My hope is that this information is received intelligibly, and that it will give you a better sense of who I am as a design professional and potential member of your team.
To help introduce myself further, I thought some clever idioms would be useful...
I decided I wanted to become an architect at age four when I was given a massive suitcase full of ‘Lego’ blocks. Sometimes clichés just happen.
I have been inspired by the pursuit of virtuous design and design practices for the past 30+ years; eight of which expended through formal education. Practice makes perfect.
I graduated with honors from one of the nation’s paramount public research universities which introduced global design diversity and accentuated collaborative resolve in the design process. Appearances can be deceiving.
I am currently employed by a progressive architecture and interiors firm in San Francisco where we design multifaceted, award-winning contemporary architecture. Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.
I attribute the ingenuity and accomplishments of my work to everyone who I have had the honor of knowing throughout my life. Never forget where you come from.

Arcanum Architecture is an award-winning architecture and interiors firm specializing in small-scale commercial and custom residential design.
Collaborate with Project Managers and a Principal Designer on custom commercial and residential projects.
Provide creative and technical support throughout all phases of the design + build process.
Produce graphic presentations including precedent guides, schematic design boards, and renderings. Renderings are completed digitally and by hand.
Translate conceptual designs (including sketches, as-built surveys, and verbal directions) into accurate AutoCAD production files.
Establish interior and exterior as-built conditions via detailed on-site surveying.
Attend and thoroughly document client meetings.
Develop construction drawing sets and construction documentation.
Obtain building permits in direct cooperation with city building officials, planners, environmental health personnel and public safety authorities.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of building codes and ADA compliance including restrooms, path of travel, and occupant load calculations.
Source furniture, fixtures, and materials in correlation with the both the Principal’s vision and the client’s aesthetic.
Coordinate project deliverables and lead times with consultants, product representatives and fabricators/manufacturers to maintain an efficient project flow.
Sustain a fundamental knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering in order to incorporate this knowledge into the design + development of our projects.

WEBCOR Builders is a commercial contractor with headquarters in San Francisco and is among the largest builders in California with clients including: Apple, Samsung, Lucasfilm, Oracle Corporation, The California Academy of Sciences, eBay and Electronic Arts.
Collaborated with team leaders, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders to push the limits of Webcor Technology.
Designed and developed corporate web platforms and projects using a creative approach influenced by technical experience.
Suggested system improvements by analyzing current practices, studying system capabilities, and recommending process controls/solutions.
