I am a chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years of experience managing technical experts and client groups to deliver on client demands for large scale projects.
MGAC, Los Angeles, CA, US, Vice President, Cost & Risk
MGAC is an owner’s representative, project management, and cost/risk management firm with offices across North America. We serve as an extension of our client’s development teams; working as advisors and partners to public and private sector clients globally.
MGAC's Cost/Risk Group provides cost advisory and strategy to increase certainty through each step of development from developing procurement strategy development, monitoring project risk and ensuring that achievable mitigation measures are in place at all times, to simply to being a sounding board for assessing alternative strategies.
I lead the Cost and Risk practice in Los Angeles and am the key point of contact for a diverse range of clients including architects, real estate investors and developers, and public agencies. I am also responsible for the growth of the LA practice including hiring, managing, and mentoring our next generation of cost consultants.
AECOM, Los Angeles, CA, US, Associate Director
I joined Davis Langdon in 1997 and led the business’s office in Southern California for 7 years, growing the office to a staff of 30 people. As a senior member of the firm I played an integral role in developing Davis Langdon’s standard method of measurement for North America as well as developing and implementing the firm’s quality assurance program. I also routinely played a key role in the delivery of cost consulting services where I had the opportunity to work on some of the most interesting and challenging projects in North America including federal and state courthouses, higher education projects, hospitality projects, and performing arts centers including the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
After the acquisition of Davis Langdon by AECOM, I took the lead role in developing a cost consulting offering within the Aviation Sector, which involved large scale terminal redevelopment projects at DFW and IAH, several projects at various airports in Hawaii, central terminal area improvements at LAX, and a new international terminal building at Tocumen Airport in Panama.
