A third generation architect with an M.S. Arch from MIT, M.Arch from Georgia Tech, and an Economics/Studio Art B.A. from Wake Forest, Richard is a architectural technologist and passionate supporter of the arts.
Stemming from initial formal training in lost-wax casting and stone carving under Henry Moore assistant Nathalie Lewis, his work has evolved from sculptural CNC-fabricated installations to facade design and architecture. Specific themes track through the whole, such as light structure, integrated enclosure systems, dynamic structure typology, systemic properties, insulation as structure, and modeling for fabrication.
After campaigns abroad for the Harvard 'Light Machine' at RPBW and a series of bridges/facades with RFR Engineers, the recent split role working remotely as a Facade Consultant for Front Inc and MIT Researcher allowed testing ideas that developed as a product of these diverse design experiences.
