REHAU recently expanded their millwork and cabinetry fabrication capabilities by opening a new lamination line within their Sturgis, Michigan facility. The lamination line will apply the wide range of REHAU RAUVISIO HouseSM surfaces – from gloss to matte, crystal, natural and metal – to MDF or particle boards as the first step in fulfilling a cabinet door or board order. Most boards will now be produced domestically, reducing lead times from months to days. The lamination line builds upon REHAU’s robust capabilities as a leading supplier of laminates, boards, edgeband, fabricated panels and fully-finished cabinet doors, strengthening the company’s service options for cabinet shops across the United States and Canada.

The introduction of the lamination line marks a significant milestone in the evolution of REHAU’s Sturgis facility. Since opening in 1976, the facility has evolved from a primary site for North American edgeband production to a distribution center and custom cabinet shop. Centrally located in the United States for quick shipping to customers, the distribution center stocks edgeband, pressed boards and fabricated panels. With the addition of the lamination line, REHAU now controls the entire process of making custom cabinet doors and fabricated panels in-house.

“The addition of the lamination line is a significant leap in REHAU’s cabinet door fabrication capabilities, providing cabinet shops with an extra layer of support beyond cutting and edging,” said Damian Kirby, vice president of the interior solutions division at REHAU. “Whether our customers need boards and edgeband or made-to-measure cabinet doors, REHAU is equipped to support them. Now, with the ability to laminate, we’re providing even more customization options and greater flexibility to deliver on tight timeframes.”

Continued Evolution to Meet Market Needs

REHAU’s commitment to supporting cabinet shops within the ever-changing millwork and cabinetry industry is evident in their fully-finished cabinet door program. Cabinet shops can choose from more than 100 finishes available across RAUVISIO House surface lines, allowing for custom designs that align with clients’ preferences. Offered in slab, siena or shaker styles, finished doors are produced in days, arriving ready for hardware fitting and installation. Each door is finished with perfectly matched adhesive-free REHAU LaserEdge™, a zero-joint edging technology that lends an enduring seamless appearance. By providing fully-finished cabinet doors and fabricated panels, REHAU enables cabinet shops to deliver a high-end seamless finish to their clients without investing in a laser and hot-air edgebander.

As the market evolves, so does REHAU’s cabinet door program. The company now offers appliance end panels, raw MDF floating shelves and glass inserts on shaker doors, providing even more customization opportunities for cabinet shops.

With the introduction of the lamination line, REHAU not only continues to supply a comprehensive range of millwork and cabinetry products but also enhances their services to support customers, underscoring their dedication to meeting the dynamic needs of cabinet shops across North America.
