I am a co-founder of Love Schack Architecture, an emerging leader in the Rocky Mountain Region specializing in Passive House construction methods. Following this endeavor, I established Regenerative Building Solutions, a consulting firm aimed at providing guidance and support to organizations or projects seeking to integrate plant-based, carbon-storing building materials.
As a Certified Passive House Tradesperson and a Living Future Accredited Professional, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table. Additionally, I hold a Certificate in Healthy Materials from Parsons' New School Healthy Materials Lab. My services encompass energy modeling, carbon accounting and certification, with a focus on identifying safe, suitable, and cost-effective building assemblies for moderate to cold climates. Depending on project needs, I can assist with material sourcing, cost estimation, detailing, and installation.
Prior to founding Love Schack, I operated a small design/build/consulting firm through which I both consulted for other architects and managed the construction of several residential scale and fabrication projects.
My primary goal is to assist architects and contractors in implementing sustainable, high-performance, carbon-storing solutions within their projects. I thrive on collaborative efforts, particularly through an integrated design approach. I have expertise in very alternative, locally sourced materials as well as off-the-shelf or panelized solutions such as CLT and straw bale or chopped straw panels. I am constantly tracking the current trends and markets and know what is available cost-implications.
I offer part-time consulting services across various project stages, from schematic design to construction oversight.
I am actively engaged in industry organizations, serving on the AIA 2030 Working Group, as President at AIA Idaho, participating in the Natural Building Alliance Board, and contributing to the new Northeast Bio-based Materials Collective alongside MASS/New Frameworks/Ha/f Designs.
