Santa Rosa, Calif., Mar. 11, 2020 – Quattrocchi Kwok Architects’ (QKA) Founding Principal Mark Quattrocchi has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) College of Fellows, earning the prestigious FAIA designation. Fellowship is the AIA’s highest membership honor, reserved for those who have made significant contributions to the profession and society and who exemplify architectural excellence. Currently, only three percent of national AIA members have been inducted into the College of Fellows.

Fellows are selected following an incredibly rigorous nomination process reviewed by a seven-member Jury of Fellows. One of only seven architects from local AIA Redwood Empire (AIARE) Chapter to ever receive the distinction, Quattrocchi will be formally honored at the Investiture of Fellows Ceremony at the AIA Conference on Architecture in Los Angeles this May.

“It has been an honor to participate in the AIA for so many years; I am humbled to have even been considered for Fellowship,” said Quattrocchi, FAIA. “Every highlight of my career has been made possible through the support and collaboration of my partner and friend Steve Kwok, our wonderful team at QKA, and the resolute belief in me by my wife Tina Kelly - especially in the early days of my firm. I will continue to tirelessly pursue the excellence that the College of Fellows embodies. Nothing brings me greater joy than doing what I love and creating spaces that support teachers, administrators and the next generation of students.”

Quattrocchi’s career is underscored by a rich portfolio of outstanding client service, effective and innovative design solutions and a passion for community and craft lauded by his partners, colleagues and industry peers. Following the launch of the firm in 1986, Quattrocchi was joined in 1991 by partner Steve Kwok and together they built QKA. Today, QKA is a thriving K-12 and higher education firm with two office locations serving Northern California and a staff of more than 60 people, designing over $2 billion in educational facilities. Quattrocchi is a frequent author and speaker on design-related topics and received his Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
