Why you need this book?

For millions of years, every cell of our body has been tuned to the natural clock work of light and dark cycle of earth's rotation. In the recent centuries, technological developments and our lifestyle changes have disconnected us from this light and dark cycle, where our internal body clocks have been led astray!

From the time of invention of the light bulb, until recently, we never realized that lighting regulates many of your biological functions. Since the discovery of a new photo sensor in our retina, in 2001, our understanding of the impact of light on our health has undergone a paradigm shift. We now realize, that the existing lighting environments, created with our limited understanding, has turned our days into night and our nights into day, impacting our health adversely.

This alarming disconnect from healthy  light and dark cycle has resulted in increasing prevalence of many lifestyle diseases and problems like, insomnia, depression, mood disorders, obesity, overeating, heart diseases and hypertension, diabetes, cancer etc either directly or indirectly. But the lighting environments in our homes and offices, still does not accommodate this new found understanding, continuing to negatively affect our health at an imperceptible  pace and intensity.

The critical question is " How awake are we during the day and how asleep are we during the night? Growing evidence indicates the urgent need for us to sync ourselves with optimum light and dark cycles, which can improve our overall physical and mental health,  concentration, memory and performance. Unhealthy lighting in your home could be  negatively influencing your productivity at work or children's performance in studies. Understand and harness the benefits of healthy lighting techniques to improve health efficiency and energy efficiency of your homes!

What can you achieve with  a healthy light and dark cycle?

Do you want to improve your Productivity? || Do you want to increase your children's or your Concentration? || Do you want to increase your children's or your Memory? || Do you want a brain that is Healthy? || Do you want to age Healthily? || Do you want to be Healthy? || Do you want more Happiness? || Do you want more Willpower? || Do you want to achieve all of your Goals? || Do you want to control your Impulses? || Do you want to be more Creative?

Surprisingly, healthy light and dark cycle exposure could be the only Solution!

Since we spend the critical triggering points of our day at home, it is essential to be aware of the lighting impact and create healthy environments around us. The American Medical Association (AMA) has already adopted a policy that it supports the need for further research into the health effects of light and the development of new lighting technologies for indoor and outdoor lighting to reduce the effects of artificial light on our body clocks.
