PLANT Architect Inc. won a Toronto Urban Design Award in the Elements category for the Pottery Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Crossing. Hosted by City of Toronto Chief Planner Jennifer Keesmaat, the awards ceremony and reception took place on 11 September 2013 at the Palais Royale. Jury members included Marianne McKenna, Founding Partner, KPMB Architects; Cecelia Paine, Professor of Landscape Architecture and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Guelph; Jeremy Sturgess, Principal, Sturgess Architecture; Eric Turcotte, Partner, Urban Strategies Inc.; and Matthew Blackett, Publisher and Creative Director of Spacing.

The jurors recognized the new bike and pedestrian crossing as "an important addition to Toronto's active transportation infrastructure", and believe "the prominence of this crossing elevates the walker and rider to an integral position within [the city's] transportation system".

The winning project is the first component in a larger scheme to provide interpretation, accessibility, and environmental control for the Lower Don Recreational Trail in Toronto.
