Pickard Chilton led an interdisciplinary team of globally recognized architectural, interiors, sustainability, engineering, and construction experts to identify trends, advances and opportunities for potential incorporation into the design of an Office Building of the Future (OBF) for the year 2030 as part of a national competition sponsored by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
Grounded in the pragmatic realities of the most accurate and latest data of building science available, the investigation identified three distinct principles that would guide the design of the OBF: human qualities, business objectives and sustainability.
The team’s award-winning submission presents new thinking about the workplace, sustainability, building systems and modularity to accommodate the owner’s business objectives with a limitless range of building program types and scales bound only by the imagination. The 158-page case study was published by Images Publishing in 2012.
The team’s award-winning submission is grounded in the pragmatic realities of the most accurate and latest data of building science available, the design nearly limitless in its potential configurations and bound only by the imagination.
