About

After graduating in May 2012 with a five year Bachelor of Architecture from Philadelphia University, and working for over a year in the Construction Management industry, I am looking to take advantage of the opportunities New York City has to offer in the design industry.

My work style is best described as efficient, self motivated, and productive. As a karate student and instructor of fifteen years, I have learned that having perseverance, integrity, and self discipline in all that you do makes for a great leader, and is a key aspect of moving into the workforce. The pursuit of my degree in architecture has taught me time management skills through ten studio intensive
classes, and the ability to meet short and long term deadlines.  These classes sought to incorporate not only architectural planning, but technical and structural systems integration as well. As a project manager assistant for John Gallin and Son, Inc, I was given the opportunity to work with subcontractors, architects and engineers, coordinating submittals, permits, change orders, and small estimates for a variety of jobs and clients.  After a year of working in the firm’s estimating and project management programs, EPM and Timberline, I developed a training manual with text and graphics for new employees upon their hire.  Working in a general contracting firm allowed me to further apply my architectural background to the built environment of New York City.

In addition to my experiences in the classroom and studying abroad in Rome, Italy, I managed to balance working 10 hours a week as a Community Service Coordinator in the Philadelphia University Office of Student Development with fulltime classes, as well as being the President of Tango Club, teaching two tango classes every Thursday night to the Philadelphia University community.  At the culmination of my fifth year of school, I was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution to Community Service Award" for my work in the greater Philadelphia area. My strong academic record reflects my ability to manage time, stay focused and has allowed me to meet the challenges of my degree successfully.
