...5 pm Sunday afternoon memorial day weekend and I am dejected. 35 yrs working in the field, 21 yrs licensed, 0 response in terms of resumes sent. Oh, I did get 1 response from a NJ design/build firm that will supposedly send me a project, that hasn't happened yet. tried to get a job as a handyman based on my experience building my own house to live in while a student at Clemson. WTF, seems that architecture is just a useless profession if one needs to actually make a living at it. So instead of celebrating our veterans, myself included, I can fight with my bank vis-a-vis releasing funds I deposited to pay my electric bill. so far they will release on June 8, 13 calender days after the deposit. So my wife and I not only slave away for minimum wage, but then are afforded the luxury of waiting a half month to actually realize any fruits of that labor. My electric may be turned off any time.
......Polishing up my portfolio. This Archinect profile is a great oppotunity to be able to present it in an organized and efficient manner, and I'm definitely taking advantage of it!! I'm also putting out feelers to past employers, clients and other contacts in the NYC, Orlando and Charlotte areas. Hopefully something may come of that. Neither Rick nor I have much really going on in terms of actual projects that earn an income. I feel sort of "in limbo" having finished up my research at Clemson, and not really having ant projects to work on. Just keeping myself busy hoping to resolve that situation soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
