...I have become an active volunteer for a group called ORLI (Operation Resilient Long Island) where NYIT students, alumni, and faculty members from the School of Architecture and Design are working with the Nassau County (N.Y.) Office of Emergency Management to aid residents dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. This includes developing schemes and ideas as it relates to Urban Design and Architecture to rebuild smarter, stronger and most of all resilient to future climatic events or changes.
