Passengers on a flight between New York and Lahore make their way from the terminal onto the plane. Yet the sheer simplicity of boarding a jumbo jet belies the complexity of the act: for the immaculate convenience of air travel brings with it confounding problematics. Issues of religion, language, and sexuality (to name a few) come unhinged-- they become fragile subjects, no longer secure, newly open to new debates. In turn, the project proposes new(er) technologies-- i.e. mechanisms to help air travelers cope with the convenience of their journey. It is a miniature world of problems and solutions, and then back to problems again; and it is a world whose architectures reflect (in more than one scale) the irritating challenges of fragmented certainties and change.
