Actually a remodel of a transitional house built in the aftermath of the Oakland Hills in 1991 (also designed by my firm) this remodel commenced 5 years following the fire, exploiting the panaoramic views and plentiful Bay Area light. Mentioned in San Francisco Chronicle's 10 year assessment of the rebuilding of the area:
