Serapian is the historical luxury leather goods Maison founded in 1928 in Milan by Stefano Serapian. Thanks to its unique creations, the Maison has established itself as an ambassador of Italian craftsmanship and of Milanese elegance, becoming a favourite among members of italian and international high society. The Maison entered the Richemont Group in 2017.
The new store concept – by Riccardo Salvi {Logica:architettura} along with Serapian creative directors – combines different precious materials that generate a true Milanese atmosphere, showcasing the city’s design DNA.
Walls are covered in a sophisticated Italian velvet; Palladiana floorings are made by hand from Bardiglio Nuvolato marble slabs; the cash desk and the shelving system panels are decked out in Candoglia marble powder (the same marble used to build the Milan Cathedral), while thick slabs of yellow marble – a reminder of Maria Teresa yellow that has distinguished the Milanese buildings since the 19th century – have been used for the drawers.
Interiors are designed to complement the pieces on display and the furnishings refer to that Milanese character based on craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail.
Despite the small size of the boutique, the atmosphere – with a moody palette and a complex mixture of materials – is wide-ranging and, thanks to the precise control of the design, architectural modernity and tradition merge.
Milan – a cultivated and meditative city which appears to be all made of hard stone – actually has a romantic heart, expressed by these interiors that create a place where the beauty of a well-crafted space is on display.
