When the Kalakala first returned to Seattle I worked with the Kalakala Foundation and produced conceptual plans for possible usesof this historic vessel. Our concept included a restaurant in the original horseshoe configuration; coffee bar; office and retail space; public space; and a museum at the engine room deck. It was anticipated that the ferry would be permanently moored along the waterfront.
