Spencer currently provided engineering, design and construction services on this project, which generally includes retrofitting thirty (30) existing buildings/facilities, including medical facilities, throughout Plaquemines Parish to protect the integrity of the building envelopes and strengthen the components of the buildings against high winds (up to 140 mph). This hazard mitigation work is being funded through, and requires close coordination with, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP). General services provided consist of: • Inspection of the 30 buildings • Recommendation of improvements • Preparation of construction contract documents • Preparation of cost estimate • Bid/award phase services • Construction phase services
