I created this video for the PORT Architecture & Urbanism project "Carbon T.A.P. // Tunnel Algae Park" which was selected as the winning entry in the UCLA cityLAB WPA 2.0 infrastructural design competition. The award was announced at the conclusion of the WPA 2.0: Working Public Architecture Symposium at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. on November 16th.
The jury of Elizabeth Diller, Cecil Balmond, Marilyn Taylor, Walter Hood, Stan Allen, and Thom Mayne cited two primary qualities: The floating, carbon-capturing bridge between Brooklyn and Manhattan would be an index for the otherwise invisible tunnel below, and the periodic rotation of the parkway across the river had the power to reshape the image of the city.
