Chakra was a name inspired by the ancient yoga systems of India.  We wanted to create an exotic restaurant that would transport you to another time and place, an atmosphere that was spiritual, mysterious, sexy and playful.  So we created silk tented canopy like beds for the banquettes with sheer curtains and plush pillows to create a sensuous ambiance.

Cambodian Buddha carvings were built into the weathered brick above each banquette and lit from below to create a dramatic effect and to give the impression that these age old reliefs had just been excavated.  12 foot palm trees create an oasis feel and a beautiful color changing stone waterfall and shimmering candlelight create a sexy space.

Chakra serves Asian and European Cuisine and has won Best Romantic Restaurant, Best Cosmopolitan, Best Martini, and Best Singles Scene in Bergen County, NJ in 2008.

Chakra also supports a broad range of charitable organizations, keeping with the restaurants concept,"Always welcoming opportunities to spread good Karma".
