Summer House

The design and build of a Summer House for a private client in central London.

The design has come about as an interpretation of an existing pavilion, using the existing footprint and existing height constraints. The design proposes a Summer house for use as a space that can be utilised in both Summer and WInter conditions. With an enclosed area for use, in particular, during Winter months that will keep out the elements, a small decked area for outdoor dining and a small area for garden storage, all whilst maintaing an open unimposing design. The aesthetics seek to achieve a rustic look and feel, using timber for the frame and privacy screens and re-using as much of the existing timber structure as possible. The design of the Summer house is designed in conjunction with new proposals for the garden layout and fits seamlessly into this design, both in orientation and aesthetic qualities.

Due for completion late 2012.
