4th Year project for a firestation in Cambridge, MA.  Two starkly different volumes - introverted program for firefighter operations and extroverted program for administration and public interface - are held in tension.  They are mediated by an elevated hardscape that acts as a threshold between the two.  The contrast evokes the pressure firefighters face from the public who depends on them.  The public can inhabit the top of the truck bay, looking into deep skylights that reveal the voyeurism traditionally exhibited in the firestation institution.
