The project functions as a rest stop on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway trail system. It is located just off Rodman Reservoir at the edge of a full grown pine forest and the lower lying trees that border the water. It acts as a gateway between the forest and the reservoir, and provides accommodations for hikers, boaters and other users. The project is anchored and contained by a stone wall which emerges from the surrounding landscape and engages the main stair. The ground and first two levels of the project are surrounded on all sides by trees and provide the more private functions, including bathing and sleeping. The third and fourth floors serve as an additional sleeping deck and assembly space respectively. These upper levels rise above the treeline and offer uninterrupted views of the reservoir and beyond allowing for a unique perspective of the Florida landscape.
