This project is supported by Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitant
(CTBUH) in Chicago and the Remaking of Mumbai Federation (RoMF)
in Mumbai. In India, religious doctrines dominate, from daily routine to
matters of life and death. death is considered one of the most important
stages of the whole human process. Currently, there is an effort to improve
the spatial quality for the living. However, issues relating to the
handling of the dead are seldom addressed. We would like to create a
high-rise cemetery in order , to free up previous ground foor cemetery
green space for recreation. This would create a vertical resource for the
handling and disposalof dead bodies, which would provide storage for the
dead for only limited a period of time, in order to ensure adequate capacity
to continually accommodate new dead.
