senior designer, architecture: skidmore, owings & merrill 2006 / 2007
320 Meter Tower, 2 W Hotels (512 Keys TL); concept thru 100% SD
Inspired by the delicate white magnolia flower, North Bund’s name sake plaza will be Shanghai’s best outdoor public space; expanding the city's park system into the North Bund area
. . . gently unfolding into a public garden infused with, retail, cafe's and
large performance spaces that activate and enliven the neighborhood.
Home to a 320 Meter Office Tower and two smaller W Hotel towers boasting a combined total of 512 Keys, the towers also reference the white magnolia influence. The main tower’s form shifts subtly as it ascends creating an dynamic profile that is both efficient and unforgettable, and the two smaller hotel towers flank the office tower like petals from a flower.
. . . forming the perfect composition; a stunning focal point for the
district, especially at night.
