Children’s Health Education Center
Greenhouses & Kitchens
The goal of this project was to create a place that would help children eat in a more healthful way by educating them about food. At the center, children have the ability to learn about the entire cycle of food. Gardens and greenhouses teach how food is grown and kitchens teach how food is prepared to eat. Finally, composting and the living machine processes both teach how waste can be transformed back into something that can aid the growth of food to complete the cycle. The design of the building reflects this process.
