This multi-family residential project is located in Uptown Phoenix and consists
of 215 apartment units/ 5 stories. It has a 5 storey parking garage (358 parking
spaces) with a wrap around building structure. Due to it being a 5 storey
building, the fire requirements - both vertical and horizontal ; kicked into higher
and more stringent fire ratings across the building.
My contributions included revision to city submittal documents, comprehensive
evaluation and revision of floor plans, unit plans, sections and details (3- hour fire
walls), review of shop drawings, on-site inspections and final punch walk with
the developer and team of sub-contractors. I also worked on the elevation and
various changes to it - in accordance to the city requirements. I had the change
to be a part of meetings with the structural and life safety inspector as well as
the fire marshall.
