THE PHILIPPINE INSTITUTE FOR MARINE RESEARCH RESERVE AND CULTURAL PARK: Exploring the Frontiers of Submerged Design via the Use of Multipurpose Renewable and Indigenous Resources

The fascination of humans with space and space travel belies the reality that we inhabit almost totally alien earth. Due to its immense expanse, the ocean has never

been fully charted, explored, or seen by humans. Thus, ocean exploration can be quite a challenge. Locally, the scientific community experiences the same problem plus bridging the gap between local filipino community and the scientific community.

In order to resolve this dilemma, this project was proposed. This complex is located along the coastline of Luzviminda Island, Puerto Princesa City. It houses stated of the art marine research faciity and equipments, submerged attractions and a cultural park where the community and tourists strive and learn more about the country’s abundant marine life.
