The divide (a two-story diagonal space climbing through the building) serves as an extension of the Seattle street: the one place where the homeless and the more affluent residents of Seattle occupy the same space. This diagonal gash becomes a testament to the existing divide between these two groups of people, while also serving to bridge that gap and prompt greater social connectivity through the programming of art space.
