A renovation project of a historical courtyard from Lijiang ancient town. We kept the original wood structure and screen doors, and also created the new skylights and modern dynamic screen to cast elegant sunlight into the room. A central circulation surrounded by water scape is created to release the corridor space under the roofs to be outdoor sitting areas of each room.
