Liina Shelter

The Line shelter was a result of a group effort from all the participants in the Wood Program. This small design allows a fast, modular and affordable way to build and emergency home, for the people in need after a natural disaster.

Each section is a 60cm wide and has the shape of the house. The structural panels are connected and the strap force the joints together, making the element rigid. The word strap in finish is ¨Liina¨, that is the reason for the given name.

The house can be built with no power tools in 6 hours and can be taken down in 4 and a half hours. The house can be extended, when is needed, adding more sections to it.

The materials used in the construction are wooden based products, plywood, cellulose insulation and LVL structural wood.

The house can accommodate 5 people, it has two bunkbeds, a double bed and a small mezzanine for the extra space.
