The verb house, Twist. Appropriately named after two oppositely directed forces are imposed upon a prism. The verb Twist was independently chosen by me in accord with my fall studio syllabus. After selecting the verb, I was instructed to act the verb on a paper model proportioned on the golden ratio. Contorted and construed, the previous pure prism now creates spatial opportunities for programmatic exploration. The assigned program was to provide a retreat for a scholarly resident to house their library. My schedule was limited to two weeks. After several studies I completed the design within a 12 hour period of intense model building. Always one of my favorite designs from school. Throughout my post school years it became a hobby to further the design to a more sophisticated level.
