Housing project in East village NY.
A residential building that actively engage with the community and not just a building sitting there. Elevated open green space that helps the neighborhood to experience openness in the congested urban design of Manhattan. The ground floor was designed to comfortably suit the residents of the house as well as the community members living around it. It contains stepping down gardening plots for every apartment to grow their own fruits and vegetables. Also, a Library, Kindergartens and laundry met to make profit that gives back to the building in the same way the building is giving to the people. The residential part of the project is elevated on columns and has 4 rectangular voids to allow cross ventilation and more sunlight to each apartment. Those voids also visually connect the elevated open green space for the neighborhood with the residents living in the building.
