The design for the pavilion is informed by ‘the creation of one element, by the existence of its opposing force’ which sculpts and defines the space. The ephemeral ‘void’ becomes defined by the two ‘earth’ planes – creating a multiple sensory experience of being under-above-in-out, while keeping in mind the creation of  an enclosed yet connected space. The planes create the enclosure and define boundaries while still allowing a passage of moments in and around it, essential attributes to a pavilion. The singular feature of the plane moving in two directions creates spaces and crevices for human-scaled interactions within its volume. The multiplicity in Surface and Structure is defined by the movement from one end to the other, and aims to be a constantly changing display of light-shadow- surface-volume. The diagonal movement of the plane and its intersections creates the opposing condition for the void to become apparent, forming a symbiosis of the present (earth) and the absent (void).
