This projects crates and opportunity to improve the city’s physical appearance, renovating accessibility and refining image perception, endorsing the need to focus on the city’s major development opportunity to reshape the elements that define Montpelier: the city rivers, the gateways and entrances, the street scape, the city’s parks, the Downtown District and the Capitol Complex.
Nature in Micropolis is inspired by Montpelier’s unique natural features. Through landscape and territorial strategies, territorial articulation zones and a strategic action plan program this project produces a public landscape that embed the contemporary needs of the majority of people, residents and visitors.
Therefore an assets based strategy to conceive and materialize the vision expressed in the 2010 Masterplan by the city of Montpelier appeared the logical way to satisfy the community’s needs.
Montpelier special character is reflected in its Capitol House and the historic downtown district, spectacular topography connected with inner and outer sites of cultural and natural interest, defining a city where landscape, heritage and environment are together in harmony , establishing the basis for a modern small American Capital.
