DESCRIPTION: This project involved adapting an existing Hyundai dealership to meet the programatic and aesthetic needs of a new Volkswagen dealership through renovation and addition. Challenges in this project included creating a new curtain wall structure which would be tall enough and avoid using spandrel glass, working with and adding onto existing structure, and creating enough room to satisfy both Volkswagen corporate requirements and client needs. The final product is a steel structure building with a glass curtain wall featuring an integral light trough with scattered leds.
