The Ambient Sentinel is a kinetic, suspended ceiling situated at the entrance of the CCA building. The project is a new type of gate that is able to sense who or what passes underneath through RFID technology. Its capabilities go beyond denying and granting access into the building, as it could also sense activities that occur below it, creating semi-private enclaves that can foster congregation. These enclaves create more of a stage setting in which CCA students can present their work to the public.
