Huron, SD has been the focuse of my years studies from the start. In 2014 the city came to our head proffessors and asked to have an alleyway revamped to facilitate growth along Dakota Ave. We started by taking a trip to the site, taking measurements, and noting interesting points of the site, as well as taking pitcures ( very important because the site is 3 hours from campus). Once this was complete we split into 5 groups. 4 of these groups were assigned to make model iterations for the next studio, the other group, that I was assigned to, was to create and accurate virtual 3D model that would be used by everyone else later on. Along with this we were assigned to create sections of the site. After that the next was each group was to create 4 different model iterations totaling 24 in all. During the next class, we as a class, and the 2 proffessors picked 5 different iterations that we like. Of those 5, 3 were from my group. The class then brainstormed on how to pick what was desired from the iterations and put them in one design that was to be shown to the city development commitee the following week.
